These are the venues in La Manga, Cabo de Palos and Los Belones competing in the “Best Marinera»

Región de Murcia once again highlights its most iconic tapa with the launch of the 3rd edition of the “Best Marinera in the Region of Murcia” Route-Contest, a competition that this year breaks records with 140 establishments registered. The event will kick off on September 19 and run until October 19, becoming a whole month dedicated to gastronomy, tradition, and creativity around the marinera.

Although the contest spans more than 40 municipalities across the Region, on the Mar Menor coast the spotlight is on the venues in La Manga, Cabo de Palos, and Los Belones, which join in with very diverse proposals in the categories of traditional marinera and reinvented marinera.

The local representatives
In La Manga del Mar Menor, the participants are:

  • Patapalo Tapas
  • El Fogón de Juan Manuel
  • La Esquinica
  • El Jardín La Manga
  • Playa Chica

In Cabo de Palos, the emblematic El Mosqui will bring its seafaring touch to the competition.

And in Los Belones, Brasería Garnacha will represent the town in this gastronomic event.

A route to enjoy and vote
Throughout the route, customers will be able to taste the different proposals accompanied by a quinto (small bottle) of Mahou Cinco Estrellas for €4 and vote for their favorites through the official website www.lamejormarinera.es. From these votes, the 14 finalists will be selected to compete in the grand regional final.

The winners of each category will receive a prize of €1,000 and the distinction of being recognized as the best in the Region, as well as Mahou product packs for those taking part in the popular vote.

With this participation, La Manga, Cabo de Palos, and Los Belones are consolidated as must-visit destinations to enjoy the marinera in all its versions, becoming an essential stop on a route that promises to be a true tribute.
